Long Island's $3-billion pension tab
Long Island's governments, school districts and public agencies will be billed more than $3 billion to finance the pensions of public workers in the next two years, according to a Newsday analysis.
Here is how much each public entity is expected to contribute to the state's retirement systems. Many of the entities have to pay into more than one retirement system.
School districts, for example, have to pay into one system for teachers and administrators and another for clerical and other nonprofessional employees. (Read more)
