Roosevelt beat Clarke 32-14 in the final game of the regular season. Gary Tamney caught a 16-yard pass to put Clarke at the 2-yard line and set up the winning touchdown. "The key was keeping their offense from scoring and that's a difficult task," coach John Boyle said. "We gave up two long runs (for touchdowns) but that's pretty much it." Clarke had a goal line stand with one minute left in the first half to keep the game a one-score deficit. The Clarke defense stopped Roosevelt inside the one-yard line on fourth down. Ocampo scored all the points for Clarke, rushing 21 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. He also caught an interception. "This was his best game," Boyle said. "He saved his best game for his biggest game of the year." After Clarke scored to take a 15-14 lead, Roosevelt got the ball back with nine seconds left. With enough time to make a single play, Roosevelt threw across the middle and Ocampo intercepted the pass to seal the win.
