Highlights: Great Neck South 54, Elmont 52: Eric Ptak hit a free throw with 28 seconds to provide the final margin for No.11 Great Neck South in a 54-52 win over sixth-seeded Elmont in a Nassau Class AA first-round game yesterday. With Great Neck South (12-7) ahead 53-46, Elmont's Isaiah Watson hit two three-pointers with about a minute left to cut the deficit to 53-52. Elmont (8-11) had a chance to win it, but Watson (6 points) missed on a three-point attempt as time expired. Ptak led Great Neck South with 17 points, Jordan Fox had 16 points and Brendan Levine added 12. Nachbi Lacossiere led Elmont with 13 points and Nikita Josephs added 10. Great Neck South advances to the quarterfinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m. where it will face defending Long Island AA champion and No.3 Baldwin.
