In July 2010, the Knicks signed point guard Raymond Felton to a two-year, $15.8-million deal.

Teamed with Amar'e Stoudemire in Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo offense, Felton immediately thrived. He posted career-best averages in points (17.1) and assists (9.0) in 54 games with the team.

With Felton at point guard, the Knicks were tracking toward their first playoff berth since the 2003-04 season. A 102-90 win over the Hawks prior to the 2011 All-Star break pushed the Knicks to 28-26, just one win short of their total from the previous year.

Felton's stint with the Knicks wound up being short, though. On Feb. 22, 2011, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets in the three-way deal that brought Carmelo Anthony to New York.
