Harry "The Horse" Gallatin was a double-double machine during his nine-year Knicks career. He averaged a double-double per game every season from 1950-51 to 1957-58, with his last season coming with the Detroit Pistons.
(He may have even averaged a double-double during the 1949-50 season, but rebounds were not a recorded statistic at that time.)
Gallatin was a seven-time All-Star and was a major force on the Knicks teams from 1950-51 to 1952-53 that won Eastern Conference titles.
Gallatin, who set a then-NBA record for playing in 682 consecutive games, was known mainly for his rebounding skills. "The Horse" still owns the Knicks single-game rebounding record with 33, which he collected on the last day of the 1952-53 season.
Gallatin was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 1992. For his career, he averaged 13.0 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
