Community Profile

Stretching from the Great South Bay to north of Montauk Highway, Babylon Village offers a variety of houses from the mid-$300,000s to $3 million, says Georgia Westcott of Coldwell Banker Residential in Babylon.

There are older Colonials and Victorians on streets with Indian and presidents' names; plus Capes, contemporaries and ranch styles; newly built brick-front Colonials; condos and apartments.

The downtown is thriving with shops and restaurants. The former West Marine business on East Main Street is being converted into retail and office space. Lily Flanagan's, an Irish pub, is coming soon on the site of the old Barker's Building on Deer Park Avenue on the north side of the village.

Village assets include community organizations. "It makes it easy to meet people," offers Westcott, who is a resident.
