Community Profile

Noted for its signature gazebo and memorial clock tower at the triangle, the waterfront village of Amityville is also popular for its beach, parks, fishing areas, nature trail and museum.

The fairly new Nautical Park on Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue, which still is awaiting a gazebo and senior center, gave the downtown a fresh new look.

A measure was recently passed to relocate village hall, the court and police station into one new building on Ireland Place.

Village homes range from the low $350,000s to about $1 million. Condos for adults 55 and older and co-ops can be found as well. Homes in the unincorporated area range from the upper $200,000s to mid-$500,000 range.

The neighborhood includes a trailer park, with prices starting at $12,000.
