Community Profile

In the geographic center of Long Island lies - appropriately - Centereach, a sprawling hamlet that includes an abundance of commercial activity along bustling Middle Country Road.

The Middle Country Library, which completely renovated its Centereach branch, was selected as the national model for the Family Place Project.

The library houses the Miller Business Resource Center, which is dedicated to promoting small businesses and entrepreneurship on the Island.

Neighborhoods feature a variety of house styles. In the past few years, postmodern homes have been built in various areas, including Howell Avenue and Hammond Road.

Residents can find recreation at the Centereach Pool, which also offers a water slide, playground and picnic area, as well as tennis and handball courts. The Heatherwood Golf Club is a public course on Arrowhead Lane.
