Community Profile

For those who yearn for a place where no home is far from the water, the barrier island community of Lido Beach has a special appeal.

This small community sits between Long Beach and Point Lookout, with only one major road running through it: Lido Boulevard. The boulevard is essentially a dividing line, distinguishing neighborhoods on the Atlantic Ocean side from those on the Reynolds Channel side. On either side, homes are near water, as well as the parks and a public golf course.

While most of the beach is public, there is a private section, accessible by boardwalk, for those living in the Dunes, a 16-block section on the southeast side of Lido Beach.

Tree-lined neighborhoods feature Colonials, high ranches, split- levels, split-ranches and contemporaries, in addition to a few other architectural styles, such as Mediterranean.

There are two condominium complexes: the Towne House of Lido Beach and Lido Towers. Summer rentals are a big draw as well, with leases running from $20,000 to $65,000 for the Memorial Day to Labor Day season.

The community houses the Lido Beach Synagogue, and offers a few eateries, including the Marvel Custard Stand, a pizzeria and a deli.

Lido Beach is a short hop from to Kennedy Airport.
