Community description: Whether you fancy vintage or new, this hamlet has both. Many homes were built in the early 1900s, while others were built in the past few years. A historic district of 68 homes was established in 1999. Some homes come with deed rights to the Roslyn Country Club.

Condos: Roslyn Heights Point Summit; $800,000 to $1 million plus

Co-ops: Roslyn Gardens, $165,000 to $289,000

Apartment rentals: The Chalet on Edwards Street. Pricing not available.

New construction: Some of the original Levitt ranches built without basements in the Roslyn Country Club area are being replaced by sprawling Colonials with basements. The average property size is a third of an acre. Also some spot building in neighborhoods off Willis Avenue.

Shopping: Shops, services and restaurants can be found along Mineola Avenue. Some markets and pharmacies deliver. A Waldbaum's is in Albertson.
