Community Profile

Historic Sag Harbor is touted for its deepwater port accommodating large vessels, its pedestrian-friendly downtown of vintage buildings, small shops and restaurants, and a marina and park overlooking the harbor. It has a literary and artistic background and draws an eclectic tourist trade, said Robert Evjen, a Prudential Douglas Elliman agent who cited Bay Street Theatre as a community cornerstone.

When the summer ends, only about 25 percent of the population remains, said Carl Marino, vice president of Century 21 Agawam Albertson. The area attracts many second-home buyers, he said. Choices include saltboxes and cedar-shake houses, ranches, capes and Colonials, priced up to the multimillions.
